Dear Death or Dark Devourer?

ABOUT THIS BOOK

The writer of this book had reached his 'three score years and ten' and been close to death a number of times, not only seeing it in war-time, in a Japanese Prison Camp, and in the course of decades of ministry, but in close encounters of a personal kind. This may, or may not, be an advantage in writing a book on the subject 'Dear Death or Dark Devourer', but the value of the book is that it gives us a biblical understanding of the matter.

As has been said, the human race fears death, not so much because it has to die, as because it deserves to die. Guilt and death are closely linked, and the very statement of this on the cover of the book may be enough to turn some people away from reading it. However, if we can get over the hump of the fear of death, we can enjoy life ever so much the more, and welcome death when it comes in its own good time. Equipped with such useful teaching we may well be able to help those who deeply fear death.

It is certainly a volume well worth reading, and passing on to others.
