The Glory of the Cross and the Resurrection

Glory of the Cross & Resurrection

ABOUT THIS BOOK

This series of studies seeks to focus reverent thought and attention on the leading features in the story of the Cross and Resurrection. It begins in the garden of Gethsemane; it concludes on the Mount called Olivet. The twin centrepoints in the narrative are the old rugged cross and the new empty tomb. We see Jesus betrayed, rejected, crucified, and we see Him risen, ascended, glorified.

Each chapter is written with a view to letting the  text unfold in such a way as to shed its light on all that took place. Readers may feel that they are made to stand in spirit beneath the shadow of the cross or within the precincts of the Tomb. They share with the earliest disciples in the sorrow and bewilderment of His death, and then in the wonder and glory of His resurrection,. here is the heart of the gospel: read it and see just what it means.

The Most Reverend Sir Marcus Loane (1912-2009)was formerly Anglican Archbishop of Sydney and Primate of all Australia. For many years the Principal of Moore Theological College, Sydney, he has travelled widely in Australia and overseas, bringing his theological, ministerial and devotional insights to many situations.
